In the tradition of the former EXPO
Erie, the Great Lakes Industrial
Technology Summit will use proceeds
to fund engineering scholarships for
locally bound college students. We
believe the future of strengthening
our industrial economy lies in a
solid knowledge base of workers in
science, technology, engineering and
mathematics. The Great Lakes Summit
brings industry to the forefront of
dialogue. That’s where it should be.
In the past, EXPO Erie achievements
have provided the funding for the
following programs:
-
The Balmer scholarship, given in
the junior year of a 4-year
program goes to 5 students every
year with a total of $100,000
awarded in the last 10 years
alone.
-
The Gray scholarship, presented
to 3-4 students in the second
year of a 2-year technology
program with $17,500 being
awarded in the last 10 years.
-
The student activities support
of $4,000 per year to help
